Fuyang Power Supply Company of Anhui province: Three-tiered network protects autumn grain drying and secures harvest
Truck after truck loaded with corn and rice pulls into the drying plant. High-capacity dryers run at full speed, evenly reducing moisture before the grain is conveyed into silos and reloaded for sale or storage. On Oct 15, at Huayu Agricultural Cooperative in Liushipu town, Yingshang county, Fuyang city, two drying towers were operating around the clock to handle newly harvested corn and rice.
"It has been overcast or raining for nearly two weeks. All our dryers are working non-stop. As long as electricity remains stable, we can dry more than 400 metric tons a day and meet both market specifications and safe-storage requirements. A sudden outage is our biggest fear. But thanks to your proactive support, we can work with real peace of mind," said Li Yonghui, head of the Huayu Agricultural Cooperative, as Chen Shisong, head of the Liushipu Central Power Supply Station, arrived in the rain to deliver on-site electrical services.
Golden October is the peak harvest season in Fuyang, yet prolonged rainfall has slowed corn and rice gathering and increased the risk of mould that erodes quality and income. To help farmers cut losses and secure the crop, the power utility has made grain-drying support the front line of its "People-Centred Electric Power" mission. Staff are deployed in the field, building a three-tier service network — fast-track business processing, production-equipment inspection, and electrical-safety assurance — tailored to each township's harvest conditions.
A green channel at every supply-station counter gives priority to new connections or capacity increases needed for autumn drying, while fault repairs and usage enquiries are handled on the spot. Drone patrols and real-time load monitoring tighten the power-security net. Crews carry out blanket checks of lines and transformers serving every cooperative, clear tree encroachment on high- and low-voltage circuits and maintain pumping-station and irrigation feeders to guarantee reliable supply before harvest operations begin. The Wanmei Communist Party service teams visit grain dryers, threshing sites, and large farms across the territory, conducting dedicated safety patrols. Reliable electricity underpins the race to dry and secure the harvest, laying a solid foundation for a bumper year.
