From Oct 17 to 23, the ±1100kV Guquan Converter Station, the world's highest voltage level converter station, is undergoing its annual maintenance.
As the receiving-end converter station of the Zhundong-Wannan UHV DC transmission project, the Guquan Converter Station has delivered more than 350 billion kWh in cumulative electricity since it was put into operation. It has also repeatedly set world records for UHV transmission projects, such as surpassing 250 million kWh of daily electricity transmission and operating continuously at a high load of 11 million kilowatts for 28 days.
During this annual maintenance, while the main DC equipment is shut down for overhaul, simultaneous work including technical transformation, hidden danger treatment, reliability improvement, and software upgrading will be carried out. A total of 54 participating units and over 900 maintenance personnel will undertake 4,525 maintenance tasks.
This annual maintenance will serve as a comprehensive "health check" on the equipment of the Guquan Converter Station. It will improve the condition of the equipment and ensure a stable power supply in East China.
