State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Company: Ensuring reliable power for rural livelihoods through grid-based village tours
State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Company has recently been stepping up efforts to meet the electricity needs of rural residents, arranging for staff to carry out a grid-area door-to-door service campaign in Wazhuang village, Jiawang district, Xuzhou. Safety guidance, energy-saving outreach, and hazard inspections were delivered right to villagers' doorsteps, forging a precision-built safety shield for rural power use.
To answer villagers' top concern — how to save electricity — the team gave on-the-spot demonstrations tailored to farm and household routines: swapping in LED bulbs, staggering appliance use, and other easy wins. More than 120 copies of the Safe Electricity Handbook and the Energy-Saving Initiative were handed out, embedding the science of smart electricity use in every household.
In parallel, the crew focused on public assets inside the Wazhuang grid — clearing trees and debris around transformers and verifying that all communal equipment is secure and stable.
"The power-supply station's home service is terrific," said villager Ms Li. "They rooted out hidden dangers and even taught us how to trim our bills. I feel a lot safer now."
The grid walk-through not only eliminated latent electrical risks in Wazhuang but also closed the gap between the utility and the people it serves.
