At the maintenance and pre-testing site of the 10 kV Section I bus switchgear of the 110 kV Baohua Substation on Oct 15, State Grid Zhenjiang Power Supply Company put into operation its self-developed multi-functional mobile testing platform for the first time. This platform not only easily handles complex tasks such as equipment transportation and navigating stairs and obstacles but also provides a stable power supply for on-site testing instruments. It effectively addresses challenges such as difficult power access and unstable equipment power during the autumn inspection period, offering a new mechanized solution that integrates transportation, lifting, and power supply for autumn maintenance operations.

To meet the practical demands of concentrated equipment maintenance and frequent material transportation in substations during the autumn inspection period, the mobile platform independently developed by State Grid Zhenjiang Power Supply Company integrates track-based stair climbing, hydraulic lifting, sliding platforms, and a dedicated power supply. It can effortlessly accomplish tasks such as stair climbing, overcoming height differences, and transporting heavy objects. The platform is particularly suitable for common autumn maintenance situations, including GIS gas replenishment, replacement of truck-type circuit breakers, and maintenance of elevated equipment.

"During the autumn inspection period, equipment transportation is frequent, and traditional manual handling is both time-consuming and poses safety risks," explained the on-site work supervisor. "This platform not only easily handles complex terrains such as stairs and cable trench covers but also provides a stable power supply for on-site testing instruments through its equipped mobile power box. This effectively avoids the impact of maintenance power supply malfunctions on substation equipment, making autumn maintenance safer and more efficient."

Since the start of the autumn inspection, the platform has been deployed at multiple substation maintenance sites, reducing the average equipment transportation time per operation by approximately 50 percent and significantly shortening the time required for arranging maintenance safety measures. This has provided equipment support for seasonal maintenance operations and laid a solid foundation for ensuring a reliable power supply during the peak winter demand period.
