To alleviate parking congestion in key areas, Weihai in Shandong province is constructing 11 new public parking lots this year. Several of these parking lots are located near popular tourist attractions and social media hotspots, and some have already been completed and opened to the public, with construction underway on the remaining ones. All of the parking lots are expected to be operational by the end of this year, offering a total of 4,421 new parking spaces.
In addition to building new parking lots, authorities are also strengthening the management of existing parking lots in tourist areas. In some parking lots, relevant departments have carried out concentrated rectification campaigns to address issues such as abandoned vehicles being left in parking lots as well as uncivilized parking.
Over the past few days, Weihai has also standardized the management, equipment, and marking of public parking lots to provide the public with more convenient and efficient parking services.
The expansion of parking options is expected to significantly improve the parking situation in Weihai, especially during peak tourist seasons. The city's efforts to strengthen parking management will also help to create a more orderly and civilized parking environment. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
