As it is currently the best season for doing so, farmers in Mabao village, Lize sub-district in the Binzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone (Binzhou ETDZ) are now busy planting chrysanthemums, which have become a new driver of local economic growth.

In recent years, Mabao village has adjusted its agricultural industry structure and leveraged its advantages to develop a number of distinctive industries.

In March of this year, by chance, Ma Zhibo, Party secretary of Mabao village, learned about the economic value of chrysanthemums, and the village then adopted a new management model to guide farmers in developing a chrysanthemum cultivation industry according to local conditions, such as weather and soil quality.

"Planting the seeds of wealth in spring, waiting for a garden full of chrysanthemums in autumn. The experimental fields are not only an opportunity but also a hope. Our village has limited resources, so if conditions are not present, we will create them ourselves. We hope that our efforts will yield good results," Ma said confidently.

Mabao village has identified its unique features and boldly taken the first step towards rural vitalization. The village will continue to promote chrysanthemum planting and carry out post-management, disease and pest control, chrysanthemum harvesting, and other related work in an effort to increase the collective income of the village and support rural vitalization. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
