Goose industry takes flight with Landes foie gras boom
Linqu county, located in Weifang, Shandong province, has become a hub for the cultivation of Landes geese, a world-renowned breed known for its foie gras. Boasting a similar climate to Landes, France, Linqu has successfully developed a comprehensive agriculture industrial chain for Landes geese over the years.

With over 100 companies dedicated to the breeding, raising, processing, sale, and research of Landes geese, bring Linqu county has seen significant economic benefits. More than 50 integrated enterprises have created jobs for over 6,000 locals.
Local companies in Linqu have pioneered deep processing technologies, expanding the range of goose liver products to include delicacies like goose liver dumplings and even liver ice cream. These innovative products are now poised to enter both domestic and international markets such as France, Italy, and Australia.
While high-end restaurants and Japanese food stores currently dominate the customer base for Linqu county's goose liver products, efforts are underway to tap into household consumption potential. Future plans include expanding supply capacities to retailers and supermarkets to make these gourmet products more accessible to the public.
