Located in the Kuiwen district of Weifang city in Shandong province, the Wolong School offers a very special pottery course that integrates students' daily lives and cognitive traits.
Students learn to craft daily items and small sculptures as they work to refine their comprehension of pottery processes like clay collection, molding and kiln firing. Through a blend of indoor and outdoor activities using local resources, students engage in material exploration, hone critical thinking skills and evolve from imitation to original creations.
Emphasizing aesthetic education, the course also provides students with insights into Chinese culture, nurturing an appreciation for traditional crafts and fostering cultural confidence. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
