Farmers in Shandong welcome cherry harvest

chinadaily.com.cn |  Updated:2024-06-12

Cherries at Xinhua Cherry Base in Linqing – a county-level city administered by Liaocheng city in Shandong province – have recently reached the harvest season.

Spanning an area of 10,000 mu (equivalent to 666.67 hectares), the facility is segmented into four production zones, yielding an annual cherry harvest of 200 metric tons. Positioned at the intersection of Hebei, Shandong, and Henan provinces, the strategic value of Xinhua cherries' location is increasingly prominent. Presently, the production and marketing of Xinhua cherries have secured the top spot in Liaocheng for six consecutive years. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
