Shandong company injects new impetus into regional economy

Shandong Hanxing New Energy Materials Co Ltd, located in the Weihai Nanhai New Area, is a major producer in Shandong of sodium-ion battery cathode material. The company's newly developed Prussian blue cathode materials will be mass-produced in the new area. More than half of the project's basic construction has been completed, and the company is now actively preparing for mass production.

The new company is also speeding up the construction of a new project, which spans over 700 meters from east to west and over 350 meters from north to south, with a total construction area of 260,000 square meters. The fastest-progressing Workshop 7 has been completed structurally and is currently undergoing exterior wall construction.

Shandong Hanxing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Hanxing Technology Co Ltd. It is a leading domestic enterprise with independent intellectual property rights in the core material research and development of the sodium-ion battery full industrial chain, primarily producing sodium cathode materials and energy storage systems.

The Prussian blue cathode materials about to be put into production by Shandong Hanxing boasts advantages such as low cost, high safety, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and excellent low-temperature energy storage capabilities.

The entire Prussian blue cathode materials factory consists of 20 workshops, including seven for producing sodium cathode materials, one for electrolytes, and others for auxiliary purposes. The research and trial production of Prussian blue cathode materials have already been conducted in Shanghai, with large-scale production set to take place in the Weihai Nanhai New Area.

Seizing opportunities in the new energy and new materials industry, Weihai Nanhai New Area is currently building a complete industrial chain for sodium-ion batteries, encompassing sodium cathode materials, electrolytes, and cell manufacturing. Focusing on the battery anode material chain, they are constructing a new energy battery anode material industrial park, attracting key projects such as Hengsheng New Energy and pushing the rapid development of the new energy industry. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
