Grand Canal Dragon Boat Cultural Festival held in Shandong
The Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Display which coincides with the 3rd Grand Canal Dezhou Section Dragon Boat Cultural Festival was held in Wucheng county, Dezhou city in East China's Shandong province on June 5.
The event was designed to make rural cultural life more vibrant, highlight the achievements in intangible cultural heritage protection, and raise public awareness about its importance. Four dragon boat teams fiercely competed on the Grand Canal in Wucheng, slicing through the waves and drawing cheers from the spectators on the shore. In addition to the races, the event featured fitness ribbon dragon performances, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, and photography activities. This year, Wucheng county has maximized its intangible cultural heritage resources by organizing three study activities. What's more, thirteen representative intangible cultural heritage projects have been showcased in communities, scenic spots, and schools. These efforts aim to create immersive tourism experiences and foster deeper integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism, thus enhancing its sustainable development.
