Editor's note: Shandong province, a coastal powerhouse in eastern China, is charting a dynamic course towards fostering new quality productive forces, driving economic growth and sustainable development. Shandong's approach to developing new quality productive forces serves as a model for sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship. China Daily is publishing a series of stories to showcase Shandong's unwavering commitment to innovation, transformation, and sustainable growth.

Jinho Clothing Intelligent Factory, a 73-year-old veteran enterprise based in Weihai, Shandong, is at the forefront of digital transformation and upgrading its equipment technology. The enterprise recently established its clothing intelligent manufacturing factory, marking a significant milestone in its technological advancement.

The brand-new facility features a range of cutting-edge equipment, including automatic cutting machines, cloth spreading machines, intelligent transport robots, and hanging systems. In the hanging sewing workshop, clothing accessories glide along tracks, creating a futuristic ambiance. The workshop has a production capacity of over 1,200 T-shirts per hour.

Inside the cutting workshop, large-scale intelligent devices like fabric inspection machines, cutting machines, and cloth spreading machines operate seamlessly with integrated computer ports. These ports capture data on every machine action, stitch, and seam, contributing to the accumulation of big data. This data serves as a foundation for enhancing efficiency and productivity in future intelligent factories.

Through digital coding, each garment receives a unique identity card detailing its specific cutting, assembly, and sewing instructions. The backend system orchestrates these processes according to the production plan, eliminating the need for manual intervention.

The utilization of AVG intelligent transport robots further streamlines operations by autonomously transporting clothing accessories, navigating the workshops, and avoiding obstacles. This innovation significantly reduces labor intensity and simplifies technical requirements. (Edited by He Yuge)
