Weihai adds 261 public charging facilities in Q1
In the first quarter, Weihai, a city in East China's Shandong province, added 261 new public charging facilities.
Weihai has prioritized the establishment of public charging infrastructure as part of its key livelihood projects this year. The city aims to build 1,000 public charging piles in various locations including old residential communities, public parking lots, and cultural and tourist attractions.
One notable project is the Chunyu Charging Station, which commenced construction earlier this year. This station features 20 charging piles and 40 charging guns, allowing it to accommodate up to 40 vehicles simultaneously.

The charging infrastructure at this station offers advanced features such as group management, power sharing, and intelligent regulation to cater to the charging needs of different types of new energy vehicles.
To enhance the user experience, the charging station also provides a 24-hour lounge with amenities like a restroom and hot water dispenser, free for vehicle owners to use.
Looking ahead, Weihai plans to expand its charging infrastructure significantly by 2024. The city aims to have a total of 22,000 charging facilities, with 3,000 units dedicated to public charging and 19,000 units for residential use. (Edited by He Yuge)
