In the provincial geological park of the Old Yellow River Course in Linqing – a county-level city administered by Liaocheng city in East China's Shandong province – vast mulberry groves saw a bountiful harvest this May. Plump mulberries peeked out from beneath the large leaves, creating a scene of abundance.
"The mulberries taste fantastic, and kids absolutely love them. Additionally, the park manager is very hospitable and taught us a lot about the benefits of mulberries," said a visitor.
The ancient mulberry tree cluster in the park has been recognized as part of the seventh batch of China's important agricultural heritage items and the first batch of Shandong's agricultural heritage items. As an authentic cultural relic of the Yellow River civilization, these mulberries in Linqing have earned certification as a national geographical indication product.
