The 2024 Shandong Big Cherry Agricultural Technology Cup and the Planting Expert Selection Event were recently held in Linqu county, Weifang. "Meizao" sweet cherries from Longhu Green Park in Zhucheng stood out and won the award for excellence.

"Meizao" sweet cherries are grown in the Longhu Green Park Pastoral Complex. They are brightly colored, crystal clear and rich in nutrients, with a single fruit weight, soft and juicy flesh, and a deliciously balanced sweet and sour taste, maintaining high quality. The big cherries have entered their ripe picking period, attracting a large number of tourists from far and wide.

The Longhu Green Park Pastoral Complex has integrated sustainability into its management process for fruits and vegetables. It has cooperated with research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences to accelerate the research and application of new organic fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, low-toxicity, and environmentally friendly pesticides.

It also promotes the trial planting and promotion of new varieties, introducing more than 10 varieties of cherry, tomato, and strawberry from the Agricultural Academy, and demonstrating and driving the development of over 10,000 mu (about 666.7 hectares) of specialty fruits and vegetables in surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, it has developed a green planting production process, developing leisure tourism, camping vacations, study tours, and labor education.

In recent years, Zhucheng has promoted the integrated development of sightseeing agriculture and rural tourism. The local government has built a number of distinctive rural tourism complexes, forming a "four-season picking" model, which has increased local agricultural efficiency and farmers' incomes.
