Ensuring spring irrigation for wheat is an important aspect of field management. In Dingtao district, Heze, Shandong province, water from the Yellow River was diverted and stored, guaranteeing water supply for the spring irrigation of wheat and increasing the chances of a bumper summer grain harvest.

In Zhangxiuyu village, Fangshan town, Zhang Qizhi is watering his wheat field, using a pump station on the field to divert water from the Yellow River.

"The water in the river channel has never stopped flowing. I can water the field whenever I want, making it very convenient," said Zhang.

The water affairs bureau of Dingtao district inspects and monitors irrigation facilities and is in charge of managing irrigation in rural areas.

The bureau adjusts the water diversion gates, coordinates water usage between upstream and downstream areas, and ensures that every drop of Yellow River water is utilized to its maximum potential.

In addition, Dingtao district utilizes an intelligent information system for Yellow River irrigation, leveraging the intelligent water information regulation platform to monitor water diversion information along the main canal in real time, enabling emergency dispatching and data sharing for irrigation management in the area.
