Expat students have great cultural adventure in Dezhou

A group of 35 expat students studying at the University of Jinan recently embarked on an exciting camping adventure at the wetland park of Taoyuan subdistrict in Pingyuan county, Dezhou in East China's Shandong province.
The students from 10 countries – Italy, France, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Thailand, Congo, Hungary, Morocco and Mongolia – are currently studying at their university, located in Jinan, capital of Shandong.
They said that during the trip they were able to truly relax and take time out to be captivated by the beautiful scenery along the Majia River.
They had a real blast with the outdoor activities, enjoying barbecues, singing, dancing and playing games.
A special highlight was a paper-cutting experience, which introduced the young folks to this aspect of the enchanting world of traditional Chinese culture.
After the camping adventure, the students visited a stone culture museum in Pingyuan county, where they were just blown away by the wonderful jade crystals and natural cave wonders. They also learned to make pancakes and tried their hand at papermaking and archery at the traditional culture experience hall in the museum.
Overall, the trip was said to have provided the international students with an unforgettable opportunity to connect with nature, explore Chinese traditions and create lasting memories of their time in the heart of Pingyuan county. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
