The 2nd Linqing Theatre, Food and Culture Festival will take place during the May Day holiday in Linqing, a county-level city administered by Liaocheng in Shandong province. The event, mainly focusing on local cuisine and theater, will incorporate elements of Guomian 1960, a former Linqing state-own cotton mill, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy food and theater while immersing themselves in the retro style of the 1980s and 1990s.
The main venue for the event will be at Guomian 1960, with eight sub-venues set up. This marks the first time that Linqing city has expanded the Theatre, Food and Culture Festival throughout the city, aiming to offer a more comprehensive cultural tourism experience featuring a rich local flavor, exquisite theater performances, and authentic food.
During the event, Guomian 1960 will restore scenes from the 1980s and 1990s, such as retro photo walls and old stores, as well as host dozens of performances and nostalgic music concerts. Additionally, nearly 100 of Linqing's specialty snacks and delicacies will be showcased at the festival.
"We welcome all visitors to come experience the new urban vitality of Linqing, a city nurtured by the Grand Canal," said Sun Weihua, director of the Linqing bureau of culture and tourism. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
