Shandong's Guanxian promotes its lingzhi mushroom industry in Xiamen

Guanxian county in Liaocheng, Shandong held a promotional event for its lingzhi mushrooms in the coastal city of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on April 21.

At the event, Zhang Qinghui, deputy Party secretary of Guanxian county, said that Guanxian's lingzhi mushrooms have been recognized as a national geographical indication product and geographical indication trademark. They have also been selected for the 2023 "Good Shandong Products" list and ranked among the top 100 in terms of reputation among China's geographical indication agricultural product brands.

In recent years, Guanxian county has been regarding the lingzhi mushroom industry as an important supporting industry for promoting rural vitalization. The county has made concerted efforts to promote the high-quality development of the lingzhi mushroom industry, forming the beginnings of a development pattern of comprehensive improvement and paving a new road for driving rural vitalization with characteristic industries.

Xu Xiaohu, vice-president of the China Chamber of Commerce of I/E of Foodstuffs, said in his speech that in recent years, Guanxian county's lingzhi mushroom industry has transitioned from traditional extensive cultivation to large-scale and intelligent production and from a single production industry to integrated development. With the help of advanced technology, the county's lingzhi mushroom industry will work to further enhance its industrial aggregation and comprehensively improve the value of its regional public brand in order to become a leader in the development of the domestic health industry.

"Guanxian county's agricultural industry cluster is well-developed and distinctive, and the excellent quality of its lingzhi mushrooms is due to its mild climate, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil," said Tan Qi, chief scientist of the national edible mushroom industry technology system.

Guanxian has been growing lingzhi mushrooms for more than three decades. It is the largest cultivation and trade base for lingzhi mushrooms in China and has been nationally recognized as a strong county in the production of lingzhi mushrooms. The value of its regional brand has been among the top three nationwide for the past two years. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
