In the cherry greenhouses of Shanwang town, Linqu county, Weifang, the cherries are ripe, appearing as bright red fruits on the branches. The large cherry trading market in Shanwang town is now bustling with activity. Buyers flock to the market to test, purchase, package, and store cherries of many varieties before shipping them around the nation.
Linqu county, known as the "No 1 county for greenhouse cherries in China", boasts a thriving cherry industry with a history spanning nearly 40 years. It encompasses 10,000 hectares of large cherries, producing 100,000 metric tons annually, making it the top county for cherry cultivation in China and an important greenhouse cherry production base.
"Shanwang's large cherry trading market is the largest professional fruit market in the area, capable of accommodating over 4,000 people at once. The annual trading volume of large cherries is around 10 million kilograms, with a turnover of around 600 million yuan ($82.81 million)," said Kou Zhenxi, a member of the Party committee of Shanwang town, Linqu county.

The event will showcase cherries from across the country, facilitate partnership agreements, and introduce new technologies and varieties, cementing Linqu's formidable position in China's cherry market.
