In the folk culture park of Tangtou Hot Spring Tourist Resorts in Hedong district, Linyi city, East China's Shandong province, the ancient buildings, flowing streams, and the charm of classical Chinese art combine to make visitors feel as if they are in China's Jiangnan area – the region south of the Yangtze River.
The folk culture park, taking 112 ancient houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) as its main body, restored 118 ancient dwellings featuring primarily Hui-style architecture in a different location. It consists of five major sections, including a museum complex, cultural exhibition area, traditional residential area, and more.
From traditional eaves to elegant carvings, every detail in the park exudes historical essence and exquisite design. Visitors can leisurely row small boats along the water, passing by the serene Hui-style buildings and drifting green willows, creating a picturesque Jiangnan water scene. The Filial Piety Museum, Covenant Museum, and more have become popular destinations for leisure and entertainment among locals.
"I have been here three times already, and it gives me the feeling of home, a strong hometown flavor. Every visit provides a different experience," said a visitor who hails from the Jiangnan region.
This year, Hedong district has made comprehensive improvements, including facility enhancement and function optimization, striving to create a harmonious blend of mountains, rivers, people, and the city. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
