At a local New Era Civilization Practice Center's library there, volunteers are now engaging with children. It's helping them to explore books and ancient poems centered around the 24 Chinese solar terms, particularly focusing on the Spring Equinox.
The center's role in promoting cultural activities is seen as being very effective – with over 800 sessions already conducted under the themes of 24 Solar Terms and Cultivating Childhood with Books.
The momentum is continuing with a Growing up with Stories activity now in its 90th phase, which underscores the county's sustained commitment to literary engagement.
In all, Dongming county has established five urban libraries, with two conferred with the appellation the "Most Beautiful Urban Libraries" in Heze city. These libraries are said to serve as vibrant hubs for community engagement and learning.
Through initiatives such as nationwide reading campaigns and distributing books to rural areas, Dongming county is aiming to reignite a passion for reading and revitalize traditional culture. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
