Savoring tradition: Xiajin's Songlou huoshao
In Xiajin county, Songlou huoshao, a traditional delicacy, continues to delight both locals and tourists with its unique taste and rich history. Originating in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), this snack once earned the admiration of the imperial court, serving as a revered tribute.
Made from a special mix of premium and soybean flours, each Songlou huoshao is carefully crafted into six layers, brushed with fragrant oil, and baked until it achieves a lantern-like shape and paper-thin crispness. In addition to its remarkable flavor, it also boasts an impressive shelf life of up to three years without deteriorating in quality.
