Ningjin, a small county of Dezhou city in East China's Shandong province, boasts numerous nicknames, from the "hometown of Chinese tables and chairs" and the "hometown of Chinese solid wood furniture" to the "land of small stove masters", the "city of intelligent manufacturing of hardware machinery", and the "hometown of acrobatics". In Ningjin, the enduring folk song "Changguan Buns, Daliu Noodles, and the Donkey Meat of Baodian" has been sung for generations, and the cricket chirping at the annual Cricket Culture Festival remains a cherished tradition. The haunting melodies of the ancient xun, a pottery flute from China, echo, and the epic DaDao Ji perpetuates the unyielding national spirit through the ages. Meanwhile, the art of red paper cuttings reveals the vibrant tapestry of daily life. (Edited by Du Xiaping)
