Paper manufacturer Shandong Wanhao Paper Group Co Ltd – located in Linqu county in Weifang city, in East China's Shandong province – is a key enterprise in its sector. In recent years, the company has won contracts to supply its paper products to several major food companies.
However, with the increasing production capacity of large domestic paper companies for similar products, competition is becoming increasingly fierce. That's why in 2012 Wanhao Paper began to explore new product lines. After market research, the company finally focused on automotive filter paper.
These days, skilled employees operate the big machines proficiently in the company's workshop, with large rolls of industrial filter paper coming off the production line one after the other.
"The product is mainly used for the manufacturing of high-end automotive filters and has a market share of nearly 40 percent in the domestic high-end market," said the company's chairman Yin Peinong.
In 2019, Wanhao Paper started supplying Germany's Mann+Hummel Group, the world's biggest filter manufacturer.
Its products are shipped to prestigious auto manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and other brands. In China, the company's products are used by the likes of the China FAW Group, Weichai Group and Shanghai Volkswagen.
Overall, Linqu county is accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as the backbone.
It's also strengthening the leading role of scientific and technological innovation, as well as consolidating new quality productive forces for high-quality development. (Edited by Yang Yingxue)
