Sanghuang is a type of fungus that grows on ancient mulberry trees and is associated with a particular ancient mulberry orchard. In China, there are records of Sanghuang dating back more than 2,000 years and numerous records of its nutritional and medicinal value.
The Xijin Ancient Mulberry Industry Research Institute, established in 2020, focuses on the Sanghuang industry, engaging in product research and development, breeding, and sales.
The institute has already achieved the artificial domestication and large-scale cultivation of Sanghuang and has made technological breakthroughs in the production and research of the fungus.
It currently produces a variety of products in the food sector, including Sanghuang tea and compressed Sanghuang, which are sold nationwide. Since it was established in Xijin, the development of the Sanghuang industry has made significant progress.
Due to the institute's unremitting efforts, the Sanghuang grown at the base now fully meets the standard requirements of Shandong province, and on Jan 25, Chinese medicinal slices were officially launched. (Edited by Huang Junyao)
