Agricultural experts from Qingyun county in Shandong visited wheat fields to guide farmers in the management of spring wheat in Chenruizhi village on March 22.

"We need to keep up with water and fertilizer management. Timely irrigation and fertilization are crucial for wheat growth during the key growth period. If the supply of water and nutrients is insufficient, it will affect the wheat yield. Also, it is important to spray herbicides in a timely manner," said Zhang Shouhong, an agricultural expert from the county.

Around the Spring Equinox, which fell on March 20 this year, the agriculture and rural affairs bureau of Qingyun county arranged for agricultural experts to conduct field surveys on the growth of winter wheat throughout the county.

They provided guidance and services to households in different regions based on the status of the wheat seedlings and the stage of growth. They also offered practical and effective wheat seedling management techniques to farmers.

Since the start of the spring plowing and sowing season, the bureau has established nine professional technical guidance teams and carried out more than 60 guidance activities through field visits and the distribution of promotional materials. (Edited by Yang Yi)
