Guaranteed electricity services to ensure smooth spring plowing, irrigation

The agricultural and rural affairs bureau and the water resources bureau of Ningyang county, Shandong province, in collaboration with the Ningyang County Power Supply Company, are currently providing services in the fields and farmlands and stepping up inspections on agricultural power lines and equipment to ensure that spring plowing and irrigation can be carried out smoothly.

As of now, the services cover more than 20,000 wells across the county. The face-to-face interactions with farmers have allowed the power company staff to better understand their needs and provide more targeted services.

This has raised farmers' awareness of safe electricity use and ensured the safe and smooth progress of spring plowing and irrigation.

To provide agricultural production services during spring plowing, agricultural experts and large-scale farmers hired by the county are busy visiting fruit and vegetable greenhouses and farmlands, where they are examining the wheat, soil moisture, and field insects. They are also addressing the challenges faced by local farmers through technical training and various forms of assistance.

Ningyang county will bolster efforts to increase the sown area of grains and improve grain production capacity, according to the county's agricultural and rural affairs bureau. (Edited by Yang Yi)
