Shandong county awakens to fresh sight of spring pear blossoms

The 19th Guanxian Pear Garden Culture Tourism Week kicked off in Guanxian county, Liaocheng, Shandong on March 28 and will last until April 3.
Every year from late March to early April, the ancient pear trees in the Zhonghua Diyi Pear Garden in Guanxian burst into bloom, with countless acres of pear blossoms painting a beautiful sight and attracting numerous visitors.
The event integrates various pear-related elements, including culture, tourism, commerce, and performances, and emphasizes popularization, folk customs, leisure, and ecological originality. It also features 10 major activities, including situational performances, coordinated activities in scenic spots, intangible cultural heritage markets, hanfu (a traditional Chinese-style clothing) shows, and food tastings, aiming to promote local culture and tourism.
Guanxian is renowned nationwide as the home of Chinese pears. The county has a long history of pear tree cultivation and boasts 50,000 mu (3,333.33 hectares) of pear trees. The local area is developing cultural and tourism industries themed on pears, fully tapping into local customs, regional culture, beautiful scenery, and delicious food and shaping a new trajectory for the cultural and tourism industry.
The Zhonghua Diyi Pear Garden, covering more than 666.67 hectares, boasts beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons: flowers in spring, greenery in summer, fruits in autumn, and trees in winter. It has become a popular tourism destination around the country. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
