Prime Chunshan tea from Shandong's county goes global
The Chunshan Tea Plantation – located in the Linshu county of Linyi city, in East China's Shandong province – is a testament to the legacy of one man: Yuan Chunshan.
He was a prominent figure in China's tea industry, known for his pioneering efforts in promoting tea cultivation.
Established in 1976, it sprawls across more than 300 mu (20 hectares), making it one of the earliest and largest tea plantations in the region.
General Manager Yuan Weicai says it is home to four separate cultivation areas, a state-of-the-art tea processing facility and a dedicated tea research and development institute. Its diverse product range includes green tea, black tea, yellow tea and more, comprising eight major series and 36 distinct varieties.
Renowned for its superior quality, Chunshan tea is characterized by its robust leaves, vibrant color and exquisite aroma.
It's garnered numerous accolades over the years, among them its inclusion in the "Top 10 Famous Teas" in both Linyi city and Shandong province.
In addition to its domestic success, Chunshan tea has gained international recognition, with exports reaching markets in Japan, South Korea and beyond. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
