Strawberries bring entrepreneurial success
In the current season, the air in Wangtuan village, located in the Hedong district of Linyi city in East China's Shandong province, is filled with the sweet fragrance of strawberries. Within Wangtuan's greenhouses, thriving rows of strawberry seedlings flourish, exuding a delightful fruity aroma. Growers are enthusiastically engaged in picking and packing, their faces radiant with the joy of a plentiful harvest.
Alongside the industrious growers, numerous urban residents, often in family groups, can be seen in the greenhouses, carrying small buckets and relishing the experience of tasting and picking strawberries. "This is my first time picking strawberries this year. I specifically came here after hearing about the wide variety of strawberry species, large-scale production, great taste and beautiful colors," said a visitor.
This year, Wangtuan village introduced a new variety of selenium-enriched strawberries. These strawberries are large, delicious, and pollution-free, resulting in a significant increase in economic benefits.
In recent years, leveraging its regional advantages, Hedong district has tailored its development strategies to promote the strawberry industry as a means of rural vitalization and improving the livelihoods of local residents. At the end of March, the district will host its 13th Strawberry Festival, with the aim of creating a cultural and tourism landmark for strawberries, thereby providing additional opportunities for increased income and prosperity for more people.
