Young folks inspired by cultural events in Shandong
In Dongming county – located in Heze city in East China's Shandong province – young people are being inspired and are having a ball by actively engaging in cultural activities during the weekends and holidays.
At the county's New-era Civilization Practice Center, they participate in events with names like Our Festivals and Rural Cultural Revitalization to learn about intangible cultural heritage and traditional folk knowledge.
The activities aim to help them appreciate the charms of traditional festivals and to connect them with their cultural roots.
Moreover, each village in Dongming county is showcasing its unique cultural features through intangible cultural heritage exhibitions right on their doorstep.
The initiative aims to strengthen the cultural foundations of rural areas and to promote local traditions.
In addition to these efforts, the county is implementing a strategy called "Culture + Civilization" – focusing on projects such as Speaking Virtue by the Yellow River Bank and Nurturing Childhood with Books.
Over the years, more than 5,000 sessions of new-era civilization practice activities have been conducted, including activities aimed at fostering mainstream values.

These initiatives are said to be not only enriching the cultural landscape, but are also leading to a new wave of cultural practices along the Yellow River – contributing to the overall development and preservation of cultural heritage in the region. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
