Rural food manufacturer Laiwu Taihe Food Co – based in Dawangzhuang town, in Laiwu district – recently secured a major order from a Japanese company, thanks to legal assistance from the local government with the signing of the contract.

As a result, over the past weeks the company – which mainly produces sushi ginger, ginger sprouts, cucumber pickles, and radish pickles – has been ramping up its production to ensure delivery of the order on time.

"This order is crucial for us. However, before signing the contract, we only had a partial understanding of the specific terms," said sales manager Su Guoxu.

"After Spring Festival, we raised this issue with the town government. The very next day, officials and legal advisors arrived and helped us with the contract terms," Su added.

Recently, officials from various departments in Dawangzhuang town have visited local enterprises, identifying the difficulties, challenges and bottlenecks in their production and operations.

Tailored measures have been proposed in response to the investment expectations, staff hiring programs and production costs raised by the enterprises.

"Every month, we compile a list of enterprise needs, focusing on their urgent concerns," said a town official.

"We aim to provide timely government services to invigorate business entities – ensuring that the dividends from the government services translate into a driving force for business development," the official added.

The proactive measures undertaken by the local government – and the joint efforts of the authorities and local businesses in resolving contractual ambiguities and addressing operational challenges – have been praised.

They are said to reflect a firm commitment to fostering a conducive business environment and supporting sustainable economic growth in Laiwu district. (Edited by Yang Yi)
