Chinese, South Korean students exchange cultures
In a bid to broaden their international horizons and foster cross-cultural communications, 19 students and teachers from the Shanxian County Muqing Foreign Language School – located in the Shanxian county of Heze city, in East China's Shandong province – recently embarked on a five-day learning exchange trip to Jeju Island in South Korea.
Their journey kicked off with a visit to Jeju National University, where they were briefed on its history, teaching methodologies and educational ethos.
The group toured various facilities including the library, auditorium and golf course – taking in the university's vibrant atmosphere.
A highlight of the trip was a cultural exchange session between the students and teachers of the Shanxian school and Jeju National University. The Chinese contingent presented traditional gifts such as Chinese knots and calligraphy, while sharing insights into their cultural significance.

Jeju Island, renowned for its stunning landscape and rich cultural heritage, provided great opportunities to explore. The group visited local landmarks including Jeju Folk Village, Pear Lake Beach and Sunrise Peak – as well as trying the island's culinary delights at the Jeju Dongmun Traditional Market.
The exchange ended on a high note, with the visitors expressing gratitude for the enriching experience. Many pledged to redouble efforts in preserving and promoting traditional Chinese culture, inspired by their interactions with their South Korean peers. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
