Springtime bliss comes to Shandong county's Fulong Lake

In the picturesque landscape of Shanxian county – located in Heze city in East China's Shandong province – Fulong Lake is currently abuzz with the sounds of the arrival of spring.

With its shimmering blue waters and lively presence of numerous bird species, the lake has become a magnet for both locals and tourists seeking a glimpse of nature's beauty.

The county recently organized a series of activities focusing on showcasing these natural wonders. As part of the initiative, expat students and teachers from a local school were invited to explore the Fulong Lake Tourism Resort, immersing themselves in the area's rich ecosystem.

The lake's pristine environment has made it a favored destination for migratory birds, providing them with an ideal habitat for breeding and foraging.

The lake is currently home to an impressive array of bird species – including grebes, mallards, egrets, kingfishers and hoopoes – totaling 152 varieties.

The visiting expats, captivated by the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings, were quick to capture the moment with their smartphones, recording their experiences through photos and short videos. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
