Expats explore the art of rope braiding in Shandong's Longkou

Longkou city in Shandong province, recently invited 23 expats to partake in an immersive cultural experience event held to showcase the allure of Chinese culture while also fostering cross-cultural exchanges.
Chinese rope art originated five millennia ago, and has evolved from a means of recording events to a decorative craft that carries profound symbolism.
At the event, an inheritor guided the foreign visitors through the intricate braiding process. The participants were captivated, and eagerly crafted their own rope bracelets.
The event not only celebrated the art of rope braiding, but also served as a bridge for cultural exchange, fostering a deeper appreciation for China's cultural heritage.
"Through this event, I learned about the history of Chinese knots and even made a bracelet by myself. I want to give it to my girlfriend. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in such activities again in the future to learn calligraphy, flower arrangement, and other cultural activities," said an international student.
