Shandong county gears up for spring planting

The agricultural community in Yanggu county, Shandong province is ready for the spring plowing season.
In Yanggu county's Fanhai village, the local agricultural supply store was buzzing with activity as a shipment of compound fertilizer arrived on March 11. With over 20 tons of fertilizer for their 700 mu (46.67 hectares) of land, the village is gearing up for a productive season.
Meanwhile, in Yanggu county's Jiazhuang village, workers from the Yanggu Junming Agricultural Machinery Professional Cooperative were busy maintaining and testing agricultural machinery to ensure a smooth start to the spring plowing season.
"We are conducting comprehensive maintenance and safety checks on all spring plowing and sowing machinery and crop protection equipment," said Chen Fei, manager of the professional cooperative.

To support the farmers, the county's agricultural bureau has been organizing technical guidance sessions for villagers, aiming to boost wheat production and ensure a good harvest.
As "a county for promoting the comprehensive improvement of wheat and corn yields in China", Yanggu county has been implementing strategies to boost agricultural production. It has achieved a total annual output of 809 million kilograms and a per-hectare yield of 67.35 kg of main grain. (Edited by Jiang Ting)
