Linyi city embarks on internationalization of local mall
Linyi city, situated in East China's Shandong province, has streamlined its international logistics system and established a marketing network.
The initiative has efficiently expanded the internationalization development path of the local Linyi mall, one of the earliest wholesale market clusters introduced in China.
This resulted in the total value of Linyi's imports and exports of foreign trade hitting 168.27 billion yuan ($23.44 billion) last year.
In 2023, the Linyi mall opened a total of 17 overseas malls and warehouses – including Shandong Lanhua Group's malls in South Korea.
Founded in 1999, Shandong Lanhua Group's businesses cover commercial logistics, e-commerce and real estate development, among other areas of endeavor.
Group chairman Guan Zhaojun said his company had undertaken a new path in the development of cross-border e-commerce, which included industry parks in Linyi, overseas shopping malls, product exhibitions and trading platforms.
The company has established a cross-border e-commerce duty-free shop in the Lanshan district of Linyi, with a storefront that spans 3,000 square meters displaying over 10,000 imported products. In addition, the group has also established a similar store in South Korea to sell products from Linyi.
This year, plans are for Linyi city to extend its pilot for national market procurements and trading methods, leverage the policies of the national cross border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone and boost the deep integration of the comprehensive bonded zone and the Linyi mall.
The city is expected to add more than 500 foreign trading businesses, as well as stage more than 10 high-level international exhibitions and hold more than 150 various exhibitions. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
