Linyi sharpens competitive edge in supply of wood products
The Lanshan district of Linyi city – located in East China's Shandong province – was honored for its efforts in wood ecological technology by the China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association, or CTWPDA, on Jan 26.
It's the second time the district has earned the recognition, after its debut on the CTWPDA list in 2020.
Over the past three years, Lanshan has been optimizing its industrial structure, innovating technologies and rolling out industrial parks, in order to build professional and intelligent clusters for the wood products sector.
To date, 1,923 board manufacturing factories and support enterprises have started operations in Lanshan, with an annual production and processing capacity of over 22 million cubic meters.
The products include plywood, particleboard, fiberboard, oriented strand board, building formworks and decorative panels – forming a major industrial cluster with a wide range of varieties and a complete supply chain.
At a workshop operated by the Xingang Group – a leading specialist manufacturer of eco-friendly wood materials – chairman Wei Xiaoxin said they'd solved common production problems such as volatile organic compounds in the wood-based panels sector.
Indeed, Xingang Group has developed a series of products – such as biomimetic formaldehyde-free lightweight, high-strength particleboard –and become a key supplier to top customized home furnishing brands like IKEA.
Moving forward, plans are for the district to further expand its presence in the sector by promoting the headquarters economy, cultivating leading enterprises and boosting innovation and brand cultivation. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
