Power supply firm boosts energy revolution in Shandong
Wendeng district of Weihai city – located in East China's Shandong province – was recently included in the first batch of rural energy revolution pilot areas in the country.
One of the players in Wendeng district is State Grid Weihai Power Supply Co. It's given full play to its strengths to bolster the energy revolution there – with actions undertaken to build a smart grid, promote the upgrading of the rural production and daily energy consumption infrastructure, as well as the integrated development of clean energy and rural vitalization.
As the popularity of new energy vehicles in rural areas grows, the company has actively promoted the construction of automobile charging infrastructure in rural areas.
At the end of January, Wendeng district was home to over 600 public charging stations and an estimated 2,000 private charging stations for households.
Last year, the company created a new energy consumption model – for "replacing coal with electricity, replacing gas with electricity and replacing oil with electricity" – to promote the balanced development of urban and rural power grid construction.
Moving forward, plans are for the business to continue to deepen the rural energy revolution, curb unreasonable energy consumption, establish a diversified supply system, drive industrial upgrades and establish a fast track for energy development. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
