Laiwu district gets new year off to strong start

Laiwu district in Jinan, Shandong province, has gone all out to develop its economy and promote the construction of major projects after the Spring Festival, ensuring a strong start to the year.

Machines have been rumbling at the workshops of CHINT Power Cable Co as its employees work extra shifts to complete orders for Europe and America.

As a leading enterprise in Laiwu's intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment industry, CHINT Power Cable has continuously upgraded its equipment and technologies to expand its production capacity and markets.

While enterprises are busy with production, construction on projects in the district is also well underway.

The construction site of the modern medicine industrial park in Fangxia subdistrict is filled with busy tower cranes, engineering vehicles and builders.

To ensure progress is made on the project, builders started working five days after the Spring Festival. Construction on the first phase has now finished and the entire project will be completed by the end of May, according to Luan Wenjun, the project's chief engineer.

District authorities have also streamlined administrative services and mobilized officials to offer more efficient services to local businesses. (Edited by Gong Jun)
