Pancakes go down well in Tai'an during Spring Festival break
A raft of special and different pancakes made by a pancake cooperative in Dongzhuang town – located in Ningyang county, Tai'an city, East China's Shandong province – proved to be a real hit with customers during the recent Spring Festival holiday.
Apart from pancakes with common flavors such as corn and millet, the cooperative also developed others with novel flavors – including purple sweet potato and rose – catering to the changing tastes of folks searching for something different.
The pancakes were sold in the form of gift boxes throughout the country.
During the break, the cooperative used live-streaming to market its products, showing curious viewers how the pancakes were made while also giving New Year's greetings.
"Our pancakes received great reviews, so we got our employees to start work early after the holiday to ensure our customers could enjoy pancakes as soon as possible," said Li Yong, director of the cooperative.
Currently, the cooperative produces 15,000 kilograms of pancakes annually, with a revenue topping 40 million yuan ($5.56 million) per annum. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
