Laiwu district in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong province, has strategically positioned itself as a stronghold for industrial development, leveraging the power of technological innovation to explore and promote the integration of technology transfer and the innovation, industry and talent chains.

This strategy aims to enhance the district's overall technological innovation capabilities, empowering the city's high-quality development.

The high-end composite materials industrial park project undertaken by Shandong Laiwei New Materials Co exemplifies the implementation of this strategy. The company's independently designed modular combination technology route for equipment has filled a void in high-end fiber manufacturing, with its technology leading globally.

In the case that all 57 production lines are fully operational, the annual output of high-end composite fibers and products is expected to reach 10,000 tons, generating a potential sales revenue of 2 billion yuan ($278 million) and a tax profit of 500 million yuan.

Tao Wujie, director of the district's bureau of science and technology, said that last year, the district had four additional provincial-level innovation platforms, adding two city-level mass entrepreneurship platforms and eight key laboratories as well.

The innovative capabilities of Laiwu's enterprises have significantly strengthened, with the district now boasting over 350 national high-tech enterprises.

Moreover, the district has been actively promoting talent recruitment and nurturing and selecting a group of leading talent in the field of science and technology. (Edited by Gong Jun)
