Cultural events highlight Spring Festival celebrations

Vibrant cultural activities have been held to celebrate the Spring Festival holiday in Dong'e county, Shandong province, as local residents and tourists enjoyed various gala performances, exhibitions and folklore during the holiday.
On Feb 7, a lively gala performance was staged in the cultural square of Huoshan village in Dong'e county, featuring programs such as drum performances, yangko dance, local traditional opera, and fast-paced storytelling.
The event, organized and performed by local villagers, captivated audiences, who enthusiastically applauded each act. Audiences were seen capturing the splendid moments with their mobile phones, creating a warm and festive atmosphere brimming with the spirit of Spring Festival.
Such gala performances, as a part of the 2024 Spring Festival Rural Culture Tourism Festival of Dong'e county, will be held in 69 administrative villages across the entire county.
In Dong'e Ejiao City, a popular tourist destination, a series of traditional and festive activities have been prepared to welcome visitors, including lion dances, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) exhibitions and immersive tours, bringing a traditional and heartwarming Spring Festival to tourists.
Moreover, temple fairs, park activities, various performances and exhibitions also offered a plethora of entertainment options to visitors.
To further invigorate the rural culture and tourism market during the Spring Festival holiday, Dong'e county also integrated cultural activities with rural tourism and offered unique products such as ICH experiences and rural homestay gatherings, attracting visitors interested in fine products, beautiful scenery, delicious food, and local customs.
