Key projects boost economy in Shandong

Relying on full support for key projects, Dong'e county in East China's Shandong province has created a strong growth driver for its high-quality development.

The precision bearing steel ball project of Shandong Dong'e Steel Ball Group is one such powerful engine and a vital force behind the county's economic growth.

With a total investment of 228 million yuan ($31.7 million), the project is expected to generate a 600 million yuan in annual sales revenue, contribute 30 million yuan in taxes, and bring in $20 million through exports, while creating 200 jobs.

To expedite the development of key projects, Dong'e county has implemented innovative measures to optimize its business environment.

Guo Xuewen, an official dedicated to the precision bearing steel ball project, said that he was involved in the entire construction process, providing precise and "concierge-style" services at various stages. It took less than a year and a half from the start of construction for the project to become operational, Guo said.

All 14 key projects at the provincial level and 13 key projects at the city level in the county have successfully fulfilled their annual investment plans, surpassing their respective deadlines by 13 and 20 percentage points. (Edited by Yang Yi)
