On Feb 2, the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month, expats joined the villagers of Gaozhuang village – located in Ningjin county, in East China's Shandong province – to celebrate the Little New Year.

It's a traditional festival in China that is usually held a week before the Chinese Lunar New Year.

They learned how to make dumplings, how to do paper-cutting and how to write couplets and expressed their New Year wishes.

They also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and felt the charms of the Spring Festival. (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
