Shandong county addresses elderly solitary residents' needs

In Guanxian county, Shandong province, community worker Wang Huapeng recently assisted a senior citizen who lives alone to replace a faucet in her home. Liu Yingzhi, a 76-year-old resident, expressed heartfelt gratitude, emphasizing the relief brought by their support.

Focused on improving the lives of solitary elderly residents, Guanxian county's Hongqi community has implemented its unique assistance strategy. Each community worker regularly visits and provides round-the-clock telephone support to one elderly resident, ensuring their well-being.

Under the guidance of local Party organization, Guanxian county actively addresses grassroots concerns through an initiative called contributing to development, solving problems, and achieving new success. Over 1,700 public suggestions were considered, resulting in the completion of 11 projects aimed at enhancing industries, optimizing business environments, and improving welfare.

Financially, Guanxian county prioritizes spending in critical areas such as education, healthcare, social security, and employment, with over 80 percent of expenditures allocated to livelihood improvements, reinforcing a robust safety net for residents.

Moreover, the administrative bureau has streamlined processes for agricultural matters. Through collaborative and supportive initiatives, they've provided over 220 on-site approval services, ensuring prompt and efficient assistance to farmers.
