Dulu village in Laiwu district of Jinan, Shandong province, has recently added new attractions featuring woodpiles, enticing numerous tourists to come catch a glimpse.
Home to an over 1,000-year-old chestnut orchard, the village is renowned for growing chestnuts. Each spring and winter, villagers often prune out large amounts of old stumps and useless branches, most of which were typically scattered throughout the village, becoming an eyesore in Dulu.

To beautify the local environment, Dulu village officials decided to create unique landscapes with this waste. Blending the discarded wood with elements of rural vitalization, the project has also motivated local villagers to take further proactive measures to improve the living environment.
Laiwu district will continue to explore ways to beautify its rural areas by caring for the environment and bringing effective practices to local villagers. (Edited by Gong Jun)
