Tai'an city improves facilities for agricultural development
Ningyang county in Tai'an city – which is located in East China's Shandong province – is making a concerted effort to improve its agricultural development, including building vegetable greenhouses, renovating old greenhouses and constructing intensive vegetable seedling centers.
In Fuanshan town in the county, a constant temperature facility ensures the temperature requirements for greenhouses.
The town utilizes surplus heat from its heating pipes connected to the local power plant and inside the greenhouses it has installed heat dissipation fins to maintain a constant heat of over 15 C.
Fushan town is scheduled to build 93 greenhouses this year, providing 20 jobs for locals.
What's more, Ningyang county has invested 12.75 million ($1.79 million) in renovating 500 old greenhouses in Huangfeng town.
With a track record now of over 30 years, greenhouses in Huafeng town have made a huge improvement in climate regulation.
To expand its cultivation of vegetable seedlings, Ningyang county has invested over 13 million yuan to build the Mount Tai tomato intensive seedling center in the Bafu Bafu agricultural demonstration park.
"At present, two sunlight greenhouse seedling sheds have been put into operation for seedling cultivation, with an annual output of 200 million high-quality tomato seedlings and an estimated annual output value of 300 million yuan," said Liu Rui, director of the Bafu agricultural demonstration park.
