Jinan district improves grassroots governance

Laiwu district in Jinan, Shandong province, has explored good measures for grassroots governance in recent years.

The district has established a sound mechanism to mediate disputes. Since 2022, various mediation organizations in the district have accepted more than 11,000 cases, over 95 percent of which have been successfully settled.

To promote upkeep of the living environment in rural areas, Xizou village in Zhangjiawa subdistrict has formulated and carried out a comprehensive plan. Its main roads, rivers, ditches, and household waste collection stations have all been thoroughly cleaned.

Improving infrastructure is another priority which has been addressed, as evidenced by the paving of new and transformation of old sewer lines, as well as the renovation of water supply pipelines. (Edited by Gong Jun)
